Since its establishment in 2008, with its distinctive personality and brand new aesthetic concept, it has taken the spotlight of world stage art with its work style and topics. It represents the highest level of contemporary dance art in China and even the world. Its works have toured Europe and America for a long time, and have received continuous applause and praise in mainstream theaters around the world. So far, it has become the most internationally renowned professional art troupe in mainland China and one of the most artistically valuable dance troupes in the world. Among them, “Haze” was successfully performed in top theaters such as the BAM Harvey Theater and Kennedy Center in the United States, Sandler’s Well in the United Kingdom, and Perth International Arts Festival in 2011, and was invited to perform at the Sydney Opera House in Australia in 2016. The “Plum in the Golden Vase” commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2011 has caused great response both domestically and internationally, and its artistic achievements and topicality have brought great reputation to the dance troupe. The work “Wild Grass” adapted from Lu Xun’s collection of essays of the same name premiered in Suzhou and Shanghai in September 2012, and successfully premiered in Europe in Germany in May 2014. It received high praise for its premiere in the United States in October and returned to the BAM “Next Wave” art festival in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington. It also toured at the Harris Theatre in Chicago and South America in 2015. In 2013, the dance troupe once again heavily invested in producing the annual new play “The Banquet”, which is based on Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and Feng Xiaogang’s film “The Banquet”. Prism “won the Best Modern Dance Company Award from the Mexican National Music Hall LUNAS in 2013. The 17 works of the dance troupe have successfully traveled to more than 30 countries, including two visits to the United States and four visits to Germany for tours, performing in famous theaters in over 60 cities. The dance troupe launched a new work “Nightingale and Rose” in 2015, a new work “Poison” commissioned by the St. Borten Art Festival in Austria in 2016, a work “Burning” with Spanish director Marcos Morau in 2017, and a dance drama “Wind and Crane” in 2018.
